Diego JIMÉNEZ—CAMACHO
Diego Jiménez Camacho is a Costa Rican musician and educator.
As a teacher, he has provided instruction in instrumental performance and music theory at various institutions across Costa Rica. His experience includes teaching in community music schools and higher education, including his work with students at the University of Costa Rica.

As a tubist, Diego has performed with several prominent ensembles, including the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica, the Costa Rican Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Limón Concert Band, the Costa Rican Wind Orchestra, the Central American Youth Orchestra, and the University of Costa Rica Symphony Orchestra, where he is an active member. These collaborations have enabled him to perform a wide-ranging repertoire, from classical works to contemporary compositions.
In addition to his work with concert ensembles, he has performed with traditional Costa Rican groups known as cimarronas, frequently featured in cultural celebrations and festivals. This experience has allowed him to explore various musical genres and styles.
Diego's postgraduate research has focused on Costa Rican music, fostering collaborations with national composers and contributing to the promotion of local repertoire. His work emphasizes the importance of preserving and developing Costa Rica’s musical identity through performance, education, and research.
